Steam Cod Fish with Wolfberry (枸纪子)
Cod fish goes very well with sweet condiments. Japanese menu always have cod fish with teriyaki sauce (sweet soya sauce). This recipe instead uses wolfberry (枸纪子) which are also sweet, and also helps to prevent degeneration of your eyes (claim to have good anti-oxidant). The bigger wolfberries are nicer (枸纪王), you can get them from most TCM stores.
Ingredients
- 1 slice of cod fish
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 slice ginger
- 2 tablespoon wolfberry
Method
- Wash the fish, drip dry and rub evenly with salt.
- Rinse the wolfberry. Leave it damp and set aside for 15 mins to soften.
- Place fish on a plate, lay the slice ginger and wolfberry on top of the fish.
- Steam for 10 mins under high heat.
- Serve hot.
