How to clean your water bottles

Sometimes you just can reach the inside of the water bottle with small sprout with any of your brushes. So how to clean the inside?

Crush some egg shell, throw them inside the bottle, add some water, shake rigorously for few minutes. The rough egg shell will act as a scrub to scrub the inside of your bottle clean.

Pour out the water and shell, and rinsed with water and soap.

I’m uncomfortable using egg shells as it may contain harmful bacteria.

My mother taught me using uncooked rice grains. Just add about 2 tbsps of rice grains and some water into the bottle, capped it, and shake vigorously. Repeat with new batch of water. The bottle will be squeeky clean afterwards 🙂

P.S. The rice grains can still be used for cooking if one doesn’t mind.
