Grill Wagyu (和牛) Beef Steak with Garlic
Wagyu beef is one of the most tender beef you can get for steak. It is being interlaced finely with fats or marbling. It is supposedly from Japan, but you can get Wagyu beef from Australia as well. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wagyu.
Grilling beef is extremely easy to do and do not need much flavoring. Beef when grilled gives out its own natural aroma, together with garlic and pepper, it made a tasty steak.
Ingredients (serve 2)
- 2 Wagyu beef steak
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
- ½ tablespoon olive oil
Method
- Wash the beef steak and dab dry. Rub olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic on both side of the steak evenly. Allow it to marinate for 30 mins.
- Heat up grilling pan until very hot. Grill steak for 1-3 mins each side, depending whether you prefer medium or well done. To test, a simple way is to press it down with your fingers. Try it on your palm. Press the flesh near your wrist, compare to those near your fingers. If the steak feels more like your palm near your wrist, it is medium. If it feels more like the palm near your fingers (harder) it is well done.
