Spicy sweet and sour sauce
You can use this sauce for many dishes like pork for fish. This is the same as the basic except this is spicy.
Ingredients
- 3 chinese table spoon of tomato ketchup (option: replace 1 spoon of ketchup with plum sauce)
- 1 chinese table spoon of sugar
- 1 chinese table spoon of soya sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon corn flour
- 1/3 cup water 1
- 1 teaspoon of minced garlic
- 1 chinese tablespoon cooking oil
- 1 teaspoon of chilli paste, or 1 chinese table spoon of chilli sauce.
Method
- Mixed ingredient 1 to 6 and item 9 in a bowl. (tip, add the flour last, and after adding, leave it to sink into the water before stiring, and this will avoid the lumpy flour effect)
- Heat up sauce pan or work or frying pan, add oil and garlic, stir fry till fragrance and lightly brown.
- Add in the mixture and bring to boil, simmer till consistency is right.
- Add in pre-cooked item to coat them or simply scoop the gravy into a bowl as a sweet and sour dip.
