Pork and Liver Soup
This is a very simple soup to make, and can go well with rice. You may add more ingredients into it like fish ball, meat ball, bean curd etc.
Ingredients (Serve 2)
- 100 grams Pork Liver
- 100 grams Lean pork
- 2 cm section of ginger
- 1-2 bowl stock
- 1 table spoon soya sauce
- 1 table spoon sesame oil
- Salt
- 1 Egg
- 1 stalk spring onion
Method
- Scrape off the skin of the ginger, and cut it into small strips (姜丝) or thin slices (姜片).
- Slice the pork liver into 3-5 mm thick slices.
- Slice the pork into 2 mm thick slices. (you may minced it and make into meat balls)
- Season the liver and pork separately with half tablespoon of soya sauce and sesame oil.
- Heat up pot, and add a little sesame oil. Add in the ginger and fry till fragrance. Add in stock to boil.
- When the stock started to boil, add in the pork and stir to make sure they don’t stick together. If using minced pork, use a spoon to make into small ball and add into boiling soup.
- Add salt to taste.
- Leave it to boil for 2-3 mins for the pork to cook. Add in liver
- Once the soup started to boil again, crack in an egg and cover for 5 mins.
- Add in chopped spring onion and serve hot.
