This soup is good for nourishing the lungs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li>1 old cucumber(\u8001\u9ec4\u74dc)<\/li>\n<li>5 dried red dates<\/li>\n<li>1 honey date (\u91d1\u4e1d\u871c\u67a3) (dried dates with sugar)<\/li>\n<li>200 grams pork ribs<\/li>\n<li>2 dried scallop (<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Conpoy\">\u5e72\u8d1d<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>4 dried oyster \uff08\u869d\u8c49, \u869d\u5e72\uff09<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon wolf berry (<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wolfberry\">\u67b8\u675e\u5b50<\/a>) optional<\/li>\n<li>2 liters water (some will dry up during cooking)<\/li>\n<li>Salt<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li>Wash the cucumber by rubbing gently over running water.\u00a0 Cut the cucumber into half lengthwise.\u00a0 Using a spoon, scrape and discard away the seeds, and cut into chucks.<\/li>\n<li>Wash all other ingredients.<\/li>\n<li>Put all ingredients, and water in a soup or stock pot, and put to boil.\u00a0 Turn down flame to very small and allow to slow boil for 3-4 hours.<\/li>\n<li>Add salt to taste, and serve hot.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You can also cook this in slow cooker for 4 hours.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Most Chinese slow cook soup (\u7172\u6c64) are cook very similarly, with similar side ingredients, only replacing the main ingredient.
